Indian Railways is the fourth-largest railway network in the world by size. Railways offer concessions to certain categories of passengers. The concession ranges from 10 per cent to 100 per cent. In order to avail this rebate, passengers must follow some rules laid down by Railways.
It may be noted that all concessional fares are calculated on the basis of fares for Mail or Express trains irrespective of the type of train by which the passenger travels. The concession is offered on both AC class and sleeper class tickets for some categories. Passengers can avail the discount at the time of booking their tickets under the respective category.
